Manage the finances of building great businesses.

We are looking for a shrewd business accountant to work with our Chief Administrative Officer.

Overseeing and managing the accounting functions of our hyper-growth ventures and the wider group. This is a cutting-edge role that’s instrumental in shaping the businesses we build. Critical in how we develop what we conceived into creating immediate value and optimal commercial success.

While a specialist finance role, it interfaces with the business horizontally. Engaging directly with the group’s senior executive team and each of our venture teams.

Fastidious focus on the day-to-day detail of our finances is critical. The speeds at which we’re growing require engineering perfection, which also extends to our financial operations. This is why we need an expert to continually develop and improve our systems for collecting, analysing, verifying and reporting our financial performances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and analysing accounting data and producing monthly financial statements and Board Pack
  • Ensure the business maintains proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including; day by day bank reconciliation of multiple entities, month-end processing including intercompany invoicing, work closely with external accountants and auditors to finalise year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, monthly general ledger review, assist with payroll and budgeting process with quarterly reviews of shared cost model, cashflow forecasting for both internal management/board purposes, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, update any fixed asset activity
  • Coordinate and complete annual R&D tax incentive and EMDG claims
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Meet financial accounting objectives set by the senior financial executives.
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Required Skills

  • 6 to 7 years of hands-on experience in a similar role, with business services and tax experience
  • Advanced digital literacy, especially with MS Office and Xero
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data in financial models
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct and supervise where required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with either CA/CPA qualification
