About the role
Lakeba Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our legal team. As the Legal Counsel, you will play a vital role in providing legal guidance and strategic advice to our organisation. You will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks. This position requires a deep understanding of corporate law and previous experience in handling corporate legal matters.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Licence: Law license required
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of corporate legal matters to various departments within the organization.
- Oversee and manage legal affairs, including contract negotiations, compliance, and risk management.
- Develop and implement corporate policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct legal research to stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company’s operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal agreements, including contracts, partnerships, and vendor agreements.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel on complex legal matters, litigation, and regulatory issues as required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of corporate governance policies and practices.
- Manage and monitor intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Provide legal support in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging legal issues that may impact the company.
Qualifications:
- Active law license in Australia.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practising law, preferably with a focus on corporate matters.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate legal risks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external parties.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
