Crypterium to let Australian consumers pay bills and make bank transfers with crypto using an Australian developed payment gateway

Sydney, 30 August, 2018Crypterium, a blockchain startup that makes spending cryptocurrencies an everyday occurrence, is entering Australia with a solution allowing the paying of bills and bank transfers with crypto.

Australian consumers will be able to pay any bills that have the BPAY logo, which is the number one electronic billing system in Australia. There are over 45,000 businesses that accept BPAY transfers and each month approximately 30 million bills to the value of $24 billion are paid with help of the service. With Crypterium, some of those payments can now be made in crypto.

Crypterium App also offers a cheap, efficient and user-friendly way of transferring crypto across the globe. Just enter the account number, specify the amount and press the “Send” button. It’s that easy.

“You can pay for your electricity or gas bill, or you can send money from your wallet straight into somebody else’s bank account without having to mess around with all sorts of conversions, exchanges etc. We believe this new feature is highly anticipated in Australia as it is a country where people are not just positive towards crypto, but already use it in their everyday life” – says Austin Kimm, COO & Co-founder at Crypterium.

With its proactive approach towards crypto regulations and a high number of active crypto wallet users, Australia has earned the nickname of a “crypto continent”. As it stands, Australia is ranked 15th globally for BTC volume by currency. In addition, the Australian housing market was among the first in the world to welcome Bitcoin transactions.

The payment gateway uses a white label version of the Paid By Coins payment gateway which has been developed by the Lakeba Group in Australia.

“We are delighted to provide our proven Paid By Coins payment platform to provide Australian Crypterium customers a BPAY environment that is both familiar and welcomed by users in this market,” said Marco Manera, CEO of Paid By Coins.

“We believe the choice of this fast-growing payment gateway, to help drive transactions from Australian users on  Cypterium’s platform, offers a strong vote of confidence for our technology.  Part of our growth focus to drive broader adoption of the platform through our B2B strategy.

“There’s growing demand by enterprises delivering cryptocurrency payment gateways to extend their business reach, and Crypterium has demonstrated its first mover position by providing this proven payment gateway for their Australian customers,” said Marco.
